Description

Amir, the son of a wealthy Kabul merchant, forms a deep bond with Hassan, his Hazara friend and servant. Their relationship is tested by social and ethnic tensions in Afghanistan, culminating in Amir’s betrayal of Hassan. After Afghanistan’s monarchy ends and the Soviet invasion begins, Amir and his father flee to California. Years later, an old family friend from Pakistan calls Amir with a chance to redeem himself: "There is a way to be good again." This leads Amir back to a distant land to confront past sins and try to atone for his childhood mistakes.
