Careers At Thryft
At Thryft, we’re bringing ecommerce to secondhand (aka recommerce)! Using innovative resale technology and AI, we deliver a trusted recommerce experience at scale. Our platform gives users peace of mind as they declutter their preloved items, earn credits for their trade-ins, and shop sustainably.

Help us shape the future of recommerce — by creating the best way to circulate items in Asia.
Our Story
It all started in 2019 when a bunch of us — students from the National University of Singapore — decided to shake things up.
We were eager to create a circular economy of good and saw the potential of e-commerce for preloved items. With a mission to unlock value for our users and community, we crammed as many books as we could into our dorm rooms and launched our first pilot right on the NUS campus.
And the rest is history!
Our aim is to create the most trusted and accessible recommerce platform for everyone. Using cutting-edge resale technology and AI, we’ve rehomed more than 90,000 items to date, enabling everyone, everywhere, to extend the life of preloved items. Our users can declutter responsibly, earn as they trade in, and shop with peace of mind. We’re a place where our users connect over shared values, where everyday individuals become a community focused on sustainability, and a resource for anyone looking to make more conscious choices.

We’ve got some big dreams. If you'd like to be a part of building them, come chat with us!
We are open to new grads, as well as SWEs with < 2 years of experience.
Software and tech is crucial to Thryft - our tech is used to support in-processing of traded-in items, issue credits to our users, list products for sale on multiple platforms, optimise warehouse inventory / order fulfilment, and many more.
As one of the early Software Engineers at Thryft, you will have the opportunity to make a huge impact as well as grow your Software Engineering skills. You will be mentored by the CTO, an ex-Google Software Engineer. At the start, you will be guided at each step of the way, including requirement gathering, software design, implementation, testing, code review, and deployment. Eventually, you should get to a point where you’re able to take ownership of software features or even entire software products.
We may be small, and our codebase may not be up to our standards yet, but we care deeply about code quality and strive to keep iterating and learning.
