Description

Captain William Reginald Hall, R.N., became Director of Naval Intelligence in 1914. By the end of the war his name and fame had spread all over the world. The ranks of those who served under him are now thinned. Admiral James is the only officer who served under him as Lieutenant and Commander afloat, and was also in charge of Room 40, where the secret intelligence was handled. He thus writes with personal knowledge of a friend and chief, who played such a large part in winning the 1914-18 war.

Published 1955.

Binding of book is loose. Moderate foxing, shelfwear, some fraying, slight tearing and several waterstains on dust jacket. Colour from cover transferred onto dust jacket. Some shelfwear on covers of book. Some tanning and foxing on edges of book. Top edge painted black. Slight foxing and few waterstains on endpapers. Very little foxing on certain pages, otherwise in good condition. Plates remain intact.
