Interactive reading experience with Read at Home

This book is perfect for children who are just beginning to read. The book comes with a CD that reads the story once for enjoyment and expression and a second time for children to follow along. The book also has fun activities such as puzzles and mazes to help practice reading skills. Tips for reading together and highlighting high-frequency words make this book a great choice for parents looking to encourage their children's reading.

Note: While we do our best to ensure the accuracy of cover images, ISBNs may at times be reused for different editions of the same title which may hence appear as a different cover.

Description

The CD will be in a plastic envelope inside the back cover of the storybook. The story will be read once through for expression and enjoyment and then read again for children to read along at the same time. A sound would signal page turns. There will be a short introduction to the story to think about the cover and what the story will be about, and the puzzle activity will be pointed out. The "Think About" questions will be read at the end. Read at Home is closely linked to Oxford Reading Tree, the most successful reading scheme in the UK, used to teach reading in well over 75 per cent of primary schools. Each story provides a wide range of fun activities to support reading skills, including a Puzzle activity in every book, a game or fun activity like a Maze or Spot the difference, and a treat for children to enjoy at the end of the story. It provides clear parental support within and beyond the book, with a "Tips for Reading Together" page, a "Think about the Story" page, and a "Useful common words" panel to highlight high-frequency words used in the story. The book features a highly successful, high-profile author and illustrator team, Roderick Hunt, author of the original Oxford Reading Tree stories, and Cynthia Rider, along with Alex Brychta's humorous and detailed illustrations. All titles are the perfect format for sharing a book
