Description

Philip's Modern School Atlas, 98th Edition, is a reference atlas for secondary education (ages 14-18), suitable for Key Stage 4, GCSE, A-Level and international schools. The contents are organized into sections with color-coded pages for quick reference. A 12-page Remote Sensing section covers satellite imagery and GIS, with an explanation of false-colour usage, and includes images used in studies of exploration, land reclamation, erosion, geology, pollution and urban regeneration. The United Kingdom and Ireland section occupies 31 pages, with physically colored maps and thematic maps on various social and economic themes. The middle section comprises 74 pages of World topographical maps, followed by 30 pages of World thematic maps. The atlas concludes with a section of World social and economic statistics, plus an index to the topographical maps showing letter-figure grid references and latitude and longitude coordinates. Available in both hardback and paperback formats.
