Written as early as in the third century B.C, the Panchatantra is popular even today among both children and adults for the wisdom it imparts as well as its humor and wit.Pandit Vishnusharma is said to have divided the tales into five (pancha) sections, each one dealing with ways and strategies (tantras) to live and prosper in the world.
