Description

As dusk approaches, a former surgeon in rural India closes up his dilapidated clinic. His day has been long: late medical supplies, precarious electricity, and a corrupt government overseer who extorts him. That night, a family—a teacher, his heavily pregnant wife, and their young son—arrives, victims of a senseless attack, bearing wounds that should be beyond healing. The surgeon faces a preposterous task: to mend the wounds of the dead so they may return to life before sunrise. Yet as the night unfolds, his own future becomes entwined with that of the dead family in ways he could never imagine. Part dusty realism, part magical fable, Night Theatre explores the miracles we ask of doctors and the delicate boundary between life and death.
