Dark satire on power of words, death, life.

"Lullaby" isn't for the faint of heart, but if you're drawn to novels that blend dark humor with the macabre, this one's for you. Chuck Palahniuk has a way of turning the disturbing and twisted into riveting plots that challenge your comfort zones. It's a heady mix of horror and satire that will make you think twice about the lullabies you know.

Description

Carl Streator is a reporter investigating Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. He discovers that all the dead children were read the same poem from the same library book the night before they died. It's a 'culling song'—a poem that can kill listeners. As he researches, he meets a woman who killed her own child with it accidentally. He himself accidentally killed his wife and child with the same poem twenty years earlier. Together, they must find and destroy all copies of the book and try not to kill every person who gets in their way. Lullaby is a comedy/drama/tragedy, in that order. It may also be Chuck Palahniuk's best book yet.
