The archivists at the Rhino Handmade Institute Of Petromusicology have mastered this 2-LP set from the original mixed 2-track stereo reel-to-reel tape, which has been on deposit in the Warner Bros. archive.

Runouts are stamped, apart from "BG", with the numbers following the "#" etched.

Description

Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band deliver a blistering late-70s live set captured at My Father’s Place in Roslyn, New York on November 18, 1978. The performance, recorded directly to two-track tape and broadcast on WLIR-FM, surveys Beefheart's Shiny Beast era with favorites like Tropical Hot Dog Night and Old Fart at Play. Originally issued on Rhino Handmade in 2000, this complete show is reissued on vinyl as a Record Store Day edition in 2023. The set showcases Beefheart’s distinctive vocal idiosyncrasies and the Magic Band’s fearless, improvisational attack, blending blues, rock and avant-garde elements.
