Description

NOTE: 10 cents from every copy sold will be donated to THE ECONOMY "Economic meltdown has never been funnier"--Rory Bremner "A genius in the making"--The Observer "Sharp, imaginative, surreal and political...Zaltzman's satire is deadly"--The Scotsman Recent months have seen the collapse of the world as we know it--or at least of many venerable old banking institutions. House prices are in freefall, unemployment is skyrocketing, and survivalists are busily oiling their assault rifles and stocking up on canned goods. Luckily, Does Anything Eat Bankers? is here to cheer us all up, asking (and answering) questions such as: "Is human life still economically viable?" "How can you qualify for a bail-out?" "What face should a politician pull whilst discussing the Credit Crunch?" "If you put an infinite number of monkeys in the NY stock exchange, would it go up or down?" "What can Barack Obama do about it?" Andy Zaltzman was born in obscurity in 1974. He began his stand-up comedy career in 1997, and three gigs, later, retired due to popular demand. He came out of his retirement in 1999, since when he has performed all over the British Isles, as well as in America and Australia. Co-founder, -writer and -star of the sporadically-acclaimed BBC Radio 4 microsmashes "The Department" and "Political Animal," he has also appeared on "The Now Show," "The News Quiz" and "Armando Iannucci's Charm Offensive." He has written for several series of "Bremner, Bird & Fortune" on Channel 4. He is currently one half of "TimesOnline"'s hit satirical podcast "The Bugle," alongside John Oliver ("The Daily Show with John Stewart"). He also writes for the "Times UK" newspaper. He is completely unqualified to write a book on economics. He prefers sport.
