All but a few deal practically with the liberal idea of a state conducted on lines at once constitutional and democratic, and the conflict of this ideal with the new totalitarian conceptions.

Binding of book is semi-loose. Tear on spine and front of dust jacket with some fraying of edges. Sunned dust jacket with some shelfwear, foxing and few waterstains. Some shelfwear on covers of book. Some tanning and foxing on fore edge and bottom edge of book. Heavy tanning and foxing on top edge of book. Annotations in pencil, some foxing and shadow on endpapers. Very little foxing on certain pages.
