Miss Marple was more than a little surprised when she received a letter from a friend who had died only a week earlier. His letter urged her to investigate a crime – but he gave no details as to who was involved, where or even when it happened... "LET JUSTICE ROLL DOWN LIKE WATERS AND RIGHTEOUSNESS LIKE AN EVERLASTING STREAM,” he quoted. They were fine words, but Miss Marple could hardly see how they applied to herself.
