Timmy the Tug is a recently rediscovered Ted Hughes poem for children, beautifully illustrated in watercolor by Jim Downer. The tale follows Timmy, a paddle-boat who sails from his moorings to the high seas, trying to be helpful even when he doesn’t always succeed. Through perseverance, he saves a ship in distress and rediscovers his pride. Written in the mid-1950s and presented here as a facsimile of the original manuscript, the book is illustrated in color throughout.
