The book contains his views on Swaraj (Home Rule), Modern Civilization, Mechanization, etc. The book was originally written in Gujarati, Mahatma Gandhi's mother tongue. The English translation was done by Mahadev Desai, Mahatma Gandhi's Personal Secretary, who is well recognized for his contribution to the Indian Independence movement.
