Empath's Visitor expands the band's sonic range, incorporating Randall Coon's suitcase organ with a Jamiroquai sound bank alongside new synth textures and Ableton sampling. Jem Shanahan's ’90s children's keyboard is filtered to sound less childlike, while Catherine Elicson's vocals rise to the fore, anchoring the album's kaleidoscopic mood. The record layers a collage of samples - from films and Minecraft to field recordings and ambient textures - into dense, living soundscapes that feel like hearing life through walls.
