Description

Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine’s The Audacity of Hype marks their debut album, originally released in 2009 on Alternative Tentacles. The record fuses hardcore punk with space-punk and Detroit-style proto-punk, driven by Biafra’s incisive political lyrics and a lineup that includes Ralph Spight, Jon Weiss, Billy Gould, and Kimo Ball. The title is a cheeky nod to Barack Obama’s The Audacity of Hope, underscoring Biafra's ongoing critique of power and state authority. A 2025 limited blue vinyl reissue has brought the album back to print.
