Theon Cross, a leading figure in London's jazz scene and a core member of Sons of Kemet, presents Intra-I, a ten-track exploration of self through bass-heavy, Afro-diaspora-infused music. The album centers the tuba as the main voice and expands into jazz, grime, soca, and reggae, featuring guest vocalists Remi Graves, Shumba Maasai, Consensus, and Oren Marshall, plus Afronaut Zu and Ahnansé on The Spiral. Released as a vinyl LP on Marathon Artists / New Soil with a March 25, 2022 date, Intra-I continues Cross's bold fusion of live instrumentation with contemporary beat-driven sound.
