The deluxe 2-LP box is newly remastered by Bernie Grundman from the original analog tapes, preserving the contemporary sound these sessions first captured. A 32-page booklet with archival photos and new liner notes by Grammy-winning historian Ashley Kahn accompanies the set. Originally recorded for Contemporary by engineer Roy DuNann, these sessions mark Ornette Coleman's breakthrough in redefining jazz and influencing generations of improvisers.
