Description

Embrace's self-titled debut LP, originally released in 1987 on Dischord Records, captures the Washington, D.C. band at the forefront of the emocore movement with Ian MacKaye on vocals and Michael Hampton on guitar. The album, recorded in late 1985 to early 1986, presents a concise, emotionally charged set of tracks that includes Give Me Back, Dance of Days, and Money. This release was remastered and reissued by Dischord in 2009, restoring the original performances and track order. Embrace remains a landmark in the DC scene, illustrating MacKaye's shift from the intensity of Minor Threat to more melodic, expansive storytelling.
