Becoming Undone, released February 25, 2022, is the ninth full-length from Detroit duo ADULT. that sharpens their dystopian synth-punk into a tight, cohesive statement. Created during the upheaval of 2020-21, the album channels impermanence and dissonance with influences from industrial pioneers like Test Department and Throbbing Gristle, while expanding their own dark electronic palette. From the techno-tinged urgency of Undoing / Undone to the jagged EBM of Fools (We Are...) and I Am Nothing, the record bristles with bristling machine rhythms and FX-drenched vocals; the closing Teeth Out Pt. II is the first ADULT. track without drums, underscoring the themes of stillness and dissolution.
