difficulties that landed her in a hospital’s intensive care unit, she was
diagnosed with COPD by a team of specialist doctors. In October that same
year, her conditions had deteriorated so much that she was given a two-
month death sentence. Against all odds, the author found herself living for
more than a decade after that. The grace of God saw her surviving several
near-death episodes and even gave her the ability to “smile through the
