Toshiba/EMI Japan released this U.S. version as part of the "Country Flag" obi / EAS re-issue series of The Beatles' Japanese LP catalog, starting in 1976. This is title number 22 in the series, featuring a U.S. flag obi. The album was originally released in the U.S. in August 1965 and is pressed from a copy of a U.S. master, with true stereo on all tracks except for "Ticket to Ride," which is in fake stereo. The packaging includes front and back covers from the U.S. design with a gatefold sleeve and a bio-lyric sheet insert in both English and Japanese.
