Description
The literature on V.S. Naipaul and his work has expanded rapidly over the past three decades, as he has become more widely known in the United States since the publication of Guerrillas in 1975. He is probably the most controversial writer to emerge from the Caribbean, and his work continues to attract attention. This is the first substantial compilation on Naipaul, consisting of over 1,000 annotated items up to the end of 1987 and updating all existing bibliographies on him. The first section of the bibliography provides an overview of his writing and identifies major trends in the criticism of it. The works are divided into primary and secondary sources, arranged by categories. All entries in each subdivision follow a chronological sequence throughout. With author, title, and subject indexes.
